Here is the story....

Jack had been effectively abandoned inside of a plastic crate which ultimately became his tomb. By the time that RSPCA investigators found him, he was completely emaciated and surrounded by his own waste.

It was evident that Jack has suffered horribly before his untimely death.

According to prosecutor Andrew Wiles:

“When the top of the crate was removed it was clear the dog was emaciated. There was an inch or more of faeces covering all of the floor except where the dog was laying.”

The judge who presided over this torturous case of cruelty was Judge Michael Kelly. He stated:

“This is one of the worst cases of animal cruelty I have come across.

“This dog was confined in a little cage so small it appears it could barely stand up.

“It was kept there without being allowed out at all for any exercise or freedom and was starved to death.

“You could have released the dog. You could have provided food for it. You were offered help and advice from the RSPCA.

“I can’t think that any human being would have failed to recognise the suffering and distress of this dog.”

Several months before the tortured dog's body was discovered, RSPCA inspectors visited Lockhurst's home and advised that the dog not be kept inside of the plastic crate, offered training advice and even suggested that Jack be surrendered.

Unfortunately for the then 16-week-old puppy, the pair heeded none of the advise.

Instead, the dog was subjected to a dismal existence fraught with torment and agony.

No doubt, the day that Jack breathed his final breath, it was with great relief.

Brunsden has been banned from ever owning an animal again and Lockhurst may face a similar sentence.

The man defending Lockhurst attempted to deflect the blame for this cruelty on the woman's emotional problems and learning disabilities. She has been spending time in a respite center and her sentencing will take place in September.

Regardless, in light of this dog's incredible suffering, there is no sentence which will ever be quite enough.

On Dec 28,2012, workers from the Park Services in Calarasi Romania, buried ALIVE 10 puppies, in a park down town, right in front of the Town Hall. Fortunately, the passers by and residents from that area, heard the doggies screams and alerted the Police.All the puppies have been saved BUT, we join the Romanian Federation for the Protection of Animals and the Environment ( FPAM ) and all Romanian animals rights activists, to ASK for the harshest punishments for these individuals who committed such and atrocity.

We hope that the legal complains and the international outrage about this crime, will force the Local Law Enforcement agencies to fully apply the law in force in Romania for the protection of animals, and will punish in the most severe way these individuals.

There might be the tendency to cover up or to find and excuse or , who knows what....and THIS tendency MUST STOP...it is far too common to let let people who commit crimes against animals to walk free, to get a small fine or even not to get charged at all.

The time has come for Romania to implement and APPLY the laws of the land. Romanian Police does not take the Law 9/2008, for the protection of animals seriously, and many times acts as if THIS law does not even exist.

We ask for a thorough and tough investigation and for the harshest punishment of all the individuals involved.

German Shepherd Dogs were found living in their own waste without food, water or heat in a house of horrors in February in Cresco, PA, USA. There were 10 dogs total, 3 were found dead and the others were emaciated, matted and covered in feces and urine. These dogs were continuelly breed, never saw the light of day, and never left their jail cells.
Peter Zervas, who ownes the sucessful Blue Comet Diner in Hazelton, PA, USA, left the dogs without any care for approximately a month or more in the brutally cold winter.
Zervas told police that he paid somebody to take care of the dogs but did not know the man's phone number or address. This is not Zervas's first brush with the law. In 1991 he was arrested for receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and corrupt organizations for his involvement with a burglary ring.
These full grown German Shepherds weighed between 40-45 lbs when found. Normal weight for this breed is 65-95 lbs. This video tells it all.

Peter Zervas, owner of the Blue Comet diner in Hazelton, PA will appear before Judge John D. Whitesell on MARCH 30TH @ 9:30 AM on charges of animal cruelty stemming from the starvation deaths of 3 German Shepherds and the emaciated condition of the remaining 7 German Shepherds.
Police near Hazleton, responding to a call about abandoned dogs, found a horrific scene in a dark garage with dead and dying German Shepherds, including puppies, lying in filth.
A neighbor in the town of Swiftwater discovered the abandoned dogs and reported it to police.
When police arrived, they found three dead puppies and seven starving adult dogs. They were transported to veterinary hospitals in very poor condition, rescuers said.

A vet estimated the dogs went for a month without food.

We are formally requesting felony charges be brought against Cindy and Dennis Chandler in their alleged neglect and abuse of the 14 live Afghan Hounds and 2 dead ones and 1 that had to be euthanized due to '3' fractures in its leg.
The dogs were covered in their own feces and urine and were being starved to death, a slow and painful death. It was only by mere chance they were rescued.
We are asking for justice for our beloved hounds - this person allegedely did not accidentally do this - it appears to be have done with malice and intent to kill these dogs in a slow and painful manner. On June 22, 2010 Bayou LaBatre (a small town in Mobile), AL police found a pug mix that had been shot in the eye and beaten with a baseball bat clinging to life. He has recently had surgery at Rehm Animal Clinic but they were unable to save his eye. The vet thinks he most likely was used for "batting practice", because of his many broken teeth. His jaw has metal inbedded in it, most likely pellets. The police in Bayou LaBatre state they believe they know who did it, but cannot prove it. In spite of his pain and abuse, he will gladly let you love on him- he needs to be cared for. If he was not so loving and sweet he would have most likely been put down by animal control but even they said this little guy has an incredible spirit and the will to fight for his life! Reconstructive surgery will be expensive but the vet thinks he is a good candidate and will make someone a VERY loving pet after his rehabilitation. 2 dogs are scheduled to be euthanized (killed) on February 5, 2010. They were taken from their owners by Brampton Animal Services without a warrant on the premise that the dogs in question "looked" like pitbulls. The linage of the dogs is boxer/american bulldog and has been confirmed by two vets. These animals do not fall under the current Breed Specific laws of Ontario.



Theses dogs have hurt no one and the owners have not broken any laws. One of the owners is a 75 year old woman who loves her dog Rambo and is her faithful companion. We can no longer stand by and allow Ontario municipal animal services to operate this way.

When the Scheeles went to visit relatives in Vermont, they did not expect their trip to end in horror. Shadow, their much beloved pet, wandered outside into a neighbor's yard where Lewis Dustin shot and killed Shadow for merely trespassing. Dustin was ordered to pay the Scheeles the cost of adopting Shadow, his veterinary bills and his cremation along with 100 hours of community service. This is not justice and the Scheeles are seeking further damages for the emotional heartache that they have suffered. As you may know already, the Scheeles are not doing this for monetary purposes. They want the courts to acknowledge Shadow as a member of the family and not as property. This is an extremely important case that will be heard in the spring and it could have tremendous impact. "On or about November 4, 2009 in Owingsville, KY, a beautiful two year old Golden Retriever named 'Dusty' was found hanging from a backhoe in a macabre display of brutality, visible to any who were unfortunate witnesses passing on a nearby road. The owner of the dog, Wesley Barrett, claims that his unnamed neighbor shot and killed the dog, upon finding the dog dead he hung the dog as a message to his neighbor. A shocked witness of the hanging dog took photos and called animal control. Police were notified and sent to the Barrett residence, however, Mr. Barrett failed to name the neighbor that allegedly shot the dog, he failed to press charges and the police did not investigate this gruesome murder.

According to many reports, an investigation into this murder has been requested, however, to date, the concern for Dusty's murder seems to have disappeared as quickly as his body. We call for an investigation into this senseless murder. We ask what pet owner would hang his dead dog and refuse to press charges against whoever allegedly murdered his dog?

We ask the officials of Kentucky to take a stand, do not let Dusty's murder go unpunished, this was blatant animal abuse and nothing less. Dusty was only 2 years old, I cannot imagine the pain this dog suffered prior to his death.

In Thailand, massive numbers of dogs are killed in the lucrative trade for dog flesh, hide, and other body parts. Investigators documented the slaughter of dogs in the vicinity of Sakhon Nakhon in northeast Thailand.




Many different breeds of dogs, collected from all over the country, are brought to Sakhon Nakhon to be killed. One estimate is that 30,000 dogs are killed in the area of Sakhon Nakhon monthly. Many of them are puppies.



Typically, dogs are brought into Sakhon Nakhon from other villages, crammed as densely as possible into a cage on the back of the collector's truck. The journey can take up to three days, and the dogs are denied food and water during the trip. By the time they reach the slaughterhouse, many are sick, some are dead. But their weakened state makes the dogs easier to kill.

It wasn't easy for the investigators to get inside the slaughterhouse because police investigations and unfavorable press reports have made workers suspicious of strangers. But the investigators eventually succeeded. There, they watched as workers sorted dog skins in the dim light.


The next night investigators watched a truck arrive at the slaughter-house carrying 70 dogs which consisted of mixed breeds, German shepherds, and others. These defenseless animals were shy and frightened. Others animals possibly stolen pets looked well-groomed and trusting. All met the same fate.

We are raising our VOICES against this horrific and most disturbing cruelty on our precious animals. How can any nation considered themselves civilised and humane with this brutal practice on defenseless animals?

Enough is enough!!!! We will boycott all trade with Thailand. We discourage potential visitors to bypass this region because of their abuse of animals. We will never stop until this vile trade is banned. Our animals are crying out with pain and suffering and we must put ourselves in the 'front line' and save them. We got the means and ways to put an end to this atrocity - We must gather ourselves collectedly to make these 'savages' stop this unspeakable cruelty otherwise we are all to blame for this prolonged EXPLOITATION.

We the people hereby request that David Michael Beers, of 43 E C Street, Brunswick MD, be convicted and sentenced to the maximum penalty on all charges. He gave a full written and verbal confession to Maryland State Police that he trespassed on posted private property, kidnapped Zoey from her home, drove 3.7 miles away and threw her over the Catoctin Creek Bridge. Zoey was a 1 1/2 year old, white, teacup, 4lb, female chihuahua. Her body has not been found.

Majlo is a sweet, gentle 2 year old dog who has never harmed anyone. Still he is ordered killed by the Norwegian police, who have held him in their custody for half a year, while his family have been fighting for his life. His only fault is that he belongs to a breed that is forbidden in Norway. Sadly, his owners didn't know about this injunction when they moved to Norway from Sweden, where the breed is legal. Although the provision of the Act allows forbidden breeds to leave the country, the police insisted on Majlo being killed instead. In August 2009 the court rescinded the judgement to kill Majlo and allowed him to return to Sweden with his family, but the Police Department appealed the verdict and refuses to let Majlo go.



Majlo's family is strongly attached to him, and miss him terribly. They don't know where he is, as he is kept in a secret place, and they are anxious for his well-being. They are charged about 250 dollars each week for Majlo's imprisonment, and twice the amount to visit him. The latest they can not afford, so they haven't seen him since he was taken away by the police back in February.



Majlo has become a symbol of the injustice that allows innocent family dogs to be killed, only because their breed is used in illegal dogfights, while criminals taking part in this abusive sport, seldom or never are accused.



In a couple of months, a higher court will decide whether Majlo shall live or die. We need a lot of signatures to tell the court that we won't accept that a friendly, harmless and beloved family dog shall be killed because of Norwegian Police principal, especially if the courts offer another solution for Majlo - to return back to Sweden with his family and continue his life there.

Je tiens par la présente à vous signaler toute l'indignation que j'ai éprouvé lors de ma découverte du supplice subi par Mambo, chien errant arrosé d'essence puis brûlé par deux adolescents dans l'agglomération d'Espira-de-l'Agly, dans la nuit du 10 au 11 Août 2009.

C'est entre les mains des membres du tribunal que vous présidez que la sentence concernant l'individu majeur impliqué dans ces faits repose, et il n'est pas dans mes intentions de juger de la sanction à appliquer.

Mais je tiens par ma signature à vous exprimer simplement mon souhait de ne pas voir cet acte impuni, afin de ne pas risquer d'engendrer de banalisation de ce type de cruautés chez certains individus.
