UKRAINE,STOP BURNING STRAY DOGS ALIVE BECAUSE OF EUROFOOT 2012 --- - The Petition Site

To the Ministry of Environmental Protection Of Ukraine

We,the undersigned,
are absolutely horrified to read in the newspaper the following article, about shooting and burning animals as part of preparations of Eurofoot 2012. Ukrainian authorities are now using a MOBILE Crematorium to exterminate stray animals," By Lisichansk goes ... mobile crematorium

http://donbass.ua/news/region/2010/01/19/po-lisichansku-ezdit-peredvizhnoi-krematorii.html

"Approached an original way to solve the problem of homeless animals in Lysychansk Luhansk region (eastern region of Ukraine). The local authority has acquired a mobile crematorium for the destruction of stray animals. Mobile team, consisting of a driver, operator and arrow, hunting for stray dogs with a special gun - shpritsemeta. Next umertvlennyh animals are cremated in a special furnace utilizer at 900 degrees. Crematorium on wheels cost the city about 198 thousand UAH. (About U.S. $ 30 000). He transferred to the balance of public road transport enterprise "Kommuntrans", which is engaged in the export of urban garbage.

According to residents Lisichansk, there are cases still burning alive of dogs and cats. However, the question of legality and morality does not care about the authorities of the city.

Until recently, in Lisichansk dogs destroyed by shooting. Now the government resorted to a "more modern, environmentally safe, in their view, the way the destruction of animals. Inspired by hunting, the power had forgotten about the Law of Ukraine "About %u0437%u0430%u0445%u0438%u0441%u0442 tvarin vid zhorstokogo povodzhennya.

Lisichansk - a small town (area - 101 sq. Km., Population - 106 thousand inhabitants). The concentration of homeless animals in it is not critical and could be easily brought under control. Money spent on the purchase of gas vans from the city budget (198 thousand UAH, which is about 30 thousand U.S. dollars) and dalneshie to spend on its services (the salary of three persons, procurement of drugs for immobilization of animals, fuel, service station) would be sufficient to address the problem of homeless animals through sterilization.

However, the power is not concerned about humane thoughts. Lisichansk offers dog-killers in other cities and districts of the region. Mobile gas vans widely advertised as a modern model for solving the problem of homeless animals.

By Angelica Komarova( google translatedWe, hereby, animal activists and animal lovers worldwide are protesting against this kind of "cleaning" and kindly ask you to stop this horrible abuse of homeless animals, which didnt asked to be on earth as a problem, please observe the LAW OF UKRAINE No. 3447 %u2013 IV

On the Protection of Animals from Cruelty

and find other, modern ,human ways as: spay neuter and release, building modern shelters for the stray animals.Untill you will kill the strays, we will encourage people not to visit your country and not to participate at Eurofoot 2012,Regards,

Stop Wolf Hunting in Bosnia & Herzegovina - The Petition Site

Stop Wolf Hunting in Bosnia & Herzegovina - The Petition Site

1780 wolves were hunted and killed in the period of ten years.

There is no law that protects these species

There is uncontrolable hunting

People from neighboring countries (e.g. Slovenia) come to Bosnia to hunt.

Poachers use snipers, automatic rifles and mines.

Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to keep the old, bad habit, which is organized mass hunt that are announced as the cultural happenings in the local media. These shameful murderous actions on all the big animals that are under protection in neighboring countries, in Bosnia and Herzegovina has become a weekend fun where perpetrators from all structures of society participate and invite guests from abroad to hunt.

During past winters, in Banja Luka, it was possible to see the horrific scene as if from some other ancient, time, wild west. This poignant scene was observed in public, because it caused horror, indignation and condemnation of many inhabitants of the city. Driving through town with a crucified wolf in the front of the off-road vehicle a "brave" hunter was showing off the latest "trophy".

Latest statistical data available show that in the period 1998-2008, 1780 wolves were hunted down in Bosnia&Herzegovina. The wolf population has decreased by 30%.

Given that the wolf is strictly protected species in EU countries and that is protected in the countries around Bosnia, we hope that B&H will soon approach a serious analysis to the state. Such an analysis would have shown that the endangered species even from afar does not threaten the man and his property in so far as to show the institutions in charge to take care of wild animal species in B&H. The wolf is one of the victims of flat and bad estimate and we hope that the responsible institutions will decide on the protection of the wolf before it is too late for this fascinating animal species.

Save The Elephants of the Kerala Rainforest - The Petition Site

2.5 kilometer wide corridor that connects the two Indian states of Kerala and Karnataka (located in the Western Ghats mountain range) is also the last unbroken forest leading the largest population of Asian elephants from wet season to dry season feeding grounds. This incredibly environmentally-sensitive corridor has become the scene of development which threatens an entire herd. The corridor is so sensitive it has become part of an international campaign to change the location of the development so it will not have such a harsh impact on the elephants.

The area is also one of the world's ten "Hottest biodiversity hotspots" and has over 5000 species of flowering plants, 139 mammal species, 508 bird species and 179 amphibian species. At least 325 globally threatened species occur in the Western Ghats.

Presently, a busy interstate highway passes through the forest with checkpoints leading from one state to another in three places. This leaves the forest corridor free for the elephants. Unfortunately, and shortsightedly, the Indian government has decided to combine the checkpoints in the centre of the elephants corridor.

This development would include all manner of infrastructure - building complexes, housing, offices, toilets and dormitories for drivers, a fuel filling station and so on, writes the nonprofit conservation group, Rainforest Information Centre. The checkpoint clearance takes hours, so there would be hundreds of lorries (trucks) parked along the road throughout the night on either side of the checkpoints within the forests preventing elephants from using the corridor.

The Rainforest Information Center tells us that work is already in progress and a trench has been dug which prevents elephants from crossing the road, cutting [the elephants] off from the river and whatever little fodder available on the river margin.
The best solution would be the relocation of the checking stations to outside the forest on the Kerala side of the corridor where suitable land for this is available, suggests Rainforest Information Centre. It is also necessary to prohibit vehicle movement during certain night-time hours for example, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.
John Seed of Rainforest Information Centre told Monagabay.com: "we feel confident that international attention can persuade the Kerala government to move the site of its planned development out of the corridor and out of the jungle."

The Rainforest Information Centre is working with the Indian environmental organization, Wayanard Nature Protection Group, and an online activist center. They encourage concerned persons to write to the governments of the states involved hoping that international attention and pressure will cause a change in the development plans.

Dog burned Alive in Cd. Madero,Tamaulipas - The Petition Site

To: Presidencia /Gobierno del Edo de Tamaulipas/ H. Congreso de la Union

Sr. Presidente de Mexico Don Felipe Calderon Hinojosa / Sr. Gobernador del Edo de Tamaulipas Ing. Eugenio Hernandez Flores / Sres.

DEMAND JUSTICE FOR BUDDY'S KILLER !!! - The Petition Site

On December 30, 2009 between 2:18 am and 4:30 am a German Shepherd named Buddy was dragged to death at the Colorado National Monument. Joan Anzelmo, superintendent of the monument, identified the suspect as Steven Clay Romero, 37, of Grand Junction.

Ms. Anzelmo said Romero is alleged to have stolen the dog Buddy, a German shepherd-blue heeler mix from people in Delta. He allegedly took the dog to the Colorado National Monument early Wednesday, tied the dog to his truck and dragged the dog. Paw prints in the snow were found to show Buddy at first walking, then running, then dragging, for 3 miles. A surveillance video showed a truck entering the monument at 2:18 am with a dog in the bed of the truck, it showed the same truck leaving at 2:30 with no dog. Witnesses said Romero said he was going to kill the dog, another said he saw Romero leave the residence with the dog.

Romero faces one count of aggravated cruelty towards animals. If convicted, the penalty is a maximum of three years in federal prison and a fine of $100,000, and one year of mandatory parole.

Anzelmo said she believes additional charges may be filed against Romero.

The goal of this petition is to see to it that Steven Clay Romero spends every single minute of those three years in federal prison, fined $100,000 and one year of mandatory parole.
