WHEN ARE WE GOING TO SEE HARSHER PENALTIES / PUNISHMENTS FOR THE SCUM HUMANS THAT COMMIT ANIMAL ABUSE/ MURDERS?
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH....the current laws are laughable...arent they!
When are they going to get serious with these low life scum who seem to keep re offending over and over again??

HOW MANY MORE cases of utter animal cruelty do we have to hear about?
Recently another poor dog died in South Carolina USA ..after being very cruelly left outside in the HOT SUN for days on end with no shade, no water, no food!
This poor dog died due to his owner murdering him!
And..the neighbours who turned a blind eye..

***Background info on the offense committed on...
Lawrence Mick, a 57 yr-old convicted felon, decided to shoot his caged dog in the head, neck and chest for "not settling down" according to his girlfriend, Melinda Perry. Despite repeatedly shooting his own dog multiple times, his girlfriend defends Mick stating he is "not an animal abuser- he loves animals".
YEH RIGHT !!!.. we really believe this!
According to witness / neighbor who called 911.. the dog, a German shepherd named Sarge, was quietly lying in his locked cage, when Lawrence Mick and another man, Adam Collins, came out and took turns shooting the dog.
Sarge lay in the locked cage, howling as the men continued their brutal attack - shooting the confined dog six times.
The distraught neighbor phoned 911.
THANKFULLY.. Sarge has so far survived the 6 time shooting, and he is now being cared for by the city animal shelter.
Lucas County Dog Warden.. Julie Lyle says Sarge is lucky to be alive.
"He's relatively unscathed for what he endured. He took shots that are still lodged in his body. Four to five in the head and one in the chest," said Lyle. But because Sarge has a history of biting ..( as per his owners say so), his survival may only be temporary.
NOT FAIR....dont blame Sarge ..blame his cruel owners!
( i truly hope that Sarge is given a chance at a new life, in a new kind home!)
Lawrence Mick, a convicted drug felon, is currently in the Lucas County Jail and he could receive 1-5 years in prison for discharging the 25 caliber pistol while possessing a felony conviction.
The other man, Adam Collins, 35, pleaded no contest to the animal cruelty charges and was released on his on his own recognizance.
He will stand trial on July 21.
THANKS.. to the neighbor for calling 911 and getting these 2 dangerous animal abusers arrested.
If she had turned a blind eye to the situation, Sarge would have died in his cage. As for Lawrence Mick and Adam Collins, the courts will have their day and those believing in karma know that they will get what is coming to them for their despicable actions.
As for the Mick's girlfriend's claims that the dog was often-times "aggressive", perhaps that has something to do with the caliber of his owners. Ownership has an obvious (and huge) impact on the demeanor of a dog.
Dont blame the dogs for biting..blame their cruel owners that made them like this!

Sarge is a German Shepherd who was shot in his kennel by his owner and one other person. Here is an exerpt from the Toledo Blade regarding the first hearing this morning. (7-19-10)
The dog, who is named Sarge, is still recovering at the Lucas County Dog Warden from the six 25-caliber bullet wounds he received July 9. His owner, Lawrence Mick, 57, of 631 Federal St., appeared before Judge Michael Goulding and pleaded not guilty Monday morning to animal cruelty, firearms discharge, and other charges, and was held in lieu of $20,000 bond.
Mick is scheduled to appear again in court Friday.

We want to tell everyone thank you for believing in us and staying true to what you know is the difference between right and wrong. It is because of all of you that he will be reconditioned in to the dog he was born to be. Scott and I are going to Toledo this week to be Sarge's voice in front of the judge. I am giving a break down of ...the cost of what all the expenses will be. We are praying that people will continue their support through donations and cross posting!

$1200 plane tickets -- $600 per ticket from Denver to Toledo
$350 sarge's flight/kennel (unless someone would like to donate an airline kennel and meet up with us)
$200 hotel stays (2 nights, thursday, friday)
$500 meds for sarge/antibiotics, pain meds, sedative for flight
$150 car rental/gas back and forth
TOTAL = $2400
We are also going to be flying Sarge back and forth, if necessary for court appearances.
