La Fondation Brigitte Bardot et l’association GAIA demandent à la Commission européenne de sanctionner la France et la Belgique pour non respect de la réglementation sur l’abattage

Dans une lettre, datée du 25 février, adressée au nouveau Commissaire européen John Dalli, la Présidente de la Fondation Brigitte Bardot et le Président de l’association GAIA condamnent « la cruauté de l’égorgement des animaux en toute conscience dans les abattoirs, sans étourdissement préalable ».
Les deux associations témoignent des investigations menées dans leurs pays respectifs. Elles dénoncent notamment la généralisation, en abattoir, de la saignée à vif et la banalisation, par les distributeurs, de produits issus d’abattages rituels non identifiés comme tels pour les consommateurs....

Ritual Slaughter
The Brigitte Bardot Foundation and the Gaia Association asked the Commission to punish France and Belgium for non-compliance on the slaughter.

In a letter dated 25 February addressed to the new European Commissioner John Dalli, President of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation and the Association President GAIA condemn "the cruelty of the slaughter of animals in all conscience in slaughterhouses without prior stunning.
The two associations reflect the investigations in their respective countries. They denounce such generalization, Abattoir, bleeding raw and trivializing, by distributors of products from slaughtering rituals were not identified as such for consumers.

John Dalli has a history of making empty promises. Greenpeace stated, “John Dalli shows disrespect for public opinion”. He has had such disrespect for most of his political career. He is an accountant with a gift for manipulating figures to cover up his incompetence in controlling the budgets and targets he had set himself.
John Dalli’s knowledge of animal welfare, GMO’s and agriculture are next to nothing. He reached a decision on GMO’s in a short space of time. This raises many questions. This is an insult to people’s intelligence knowing that he has had hardly any exposure to this subject or animal welfare. He authorised GM potatoes for animal feed. This shows lack of concern towards animal welfare.
John Dalli is not a GMO or animal welfare expert, but he is an expert in arrogance, incompetence, lies, scandals and making false and malicious accusations. As he did when he falsely and maliciously accused the Malta Labour Party and Joseph Ellul-Grech of sending 20, 000 anonymous letters claiming to defame him. Ellul-Grech was acquitted and the Malta Labour Party was absolved of such accusations. John Dalli knew from the out set that neither Ellul-Grech nor the Malta Labour Party had anything to do with such a pathetic and time-consuming criminal act.
John Dalli is an expert in selling national assets without authority for a pittance as he did with the sale of Mid-Med Bank in Malta.
He has been quoted as saying ”I do not want to tell people what to eat, I want to tell them what they are eating.” Greenpeace has stated about GMO potatoes “By hiding behind bureaucratic formalities the EU Commission is essentially force-feeding Europeans with products that they don’t want. This GM crop poses an unacceptable risk to human and animal health, as well as to the environment.”
John Dalli is making people and animals eat what they do not want to eat. This is arrogance of the highest order and a slap in the face to all Europeans.
